Mission/Philosophy
MissionFounded by the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1931, St. Matthew Catholic School nurtures the spiritual, intellectual, and physical growth of each student in a faith-filled community. Guided by Christian virtues and traditions, the school inspires academic excellence and empowers students to lead and serve as disciples of Christ.
PhilosophySt. Matthew Catholic School, an active ministry of St. Matthew Parish within the Archdiocese of San Francisco, partners with families to impart and promote our Catholic faith to future generations. We believe that parents, as the primary educators of their children, work in partnership with the parish and school to foster a faith-filled community inspired to live as Jesus taught. We nurture each child’s unique gifts and support the growth of the whole person, spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically.By integrating faith, knowledge, and community, St. Matthew Catholic School students develop strong moral character, communicate effectively, live their faith through service, act responsibly as citizens, and pursue lifelong learning.
