Christmas at St. Matthew Keep an eye out for our parish Christmas card. It should be arriving soon. Thanks in advance for your crucial support!
Please take a moment to enjoy the cover photo of the beautiful Christmas art in our adoration chapel. We are so blessed to have such high quality mosaics of the Apostles in our sanctuary, various moments in the life of Christ in our adoration chapel, and the waters of life that swirl around our baptismal font.
These mosaics are just one example of all that we have inherited from the foresight and generosity of the Saint Matthew's community that preceded us. Think about all that we have as a parish because of the generosity of those who invested in the future we now enjoy - this expansive campus, our beautiful school and such a large Church to serve our many current needs. All this thanks to generous parishioners and pastors who were no doubt aggressive in raising sufficient funds for it all.
In the spirit of such generous parishioners and aggressive pastors, I ask you to consider carefully what you can afford to contribute to our special Christmas collection this year. It is a long-standing tradition that the faithful make a special gift at Christmas (and Easter), which is more than their usual Sunday donation - perhaps three or four times the ordinary amount. If you plan to be travelling, please remember we still depend on your support here at home.
This is our opportunity to provide for the long term health of our beloved parish, maintaining our buildings and property, serving our families and a contributing to a future that our children and their children will enjoy.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year.
Msgr. John Talesfore
