Uniform, Makeup and Grooming Policies 2008 -2009

The school uniform must be worn at all times beginning the first day of school, with the exception of the day on which Scouts, Brownies or Cheerleaders have their meeting or event. On all days the uniform should be clean, well pressed and mended. If there is reason for a student to be out of uniform, a note should be sent to the office giving the reason.

Used uniforms are available at the school for a designated price several times a year via the Uniform Exchange.

For brand new uniform pieces, Dennis Uniform Company, Redwood City, (650) 299-9623, supplies all uniform materials excluding spirit uniform: polo, sweatshirt, polar fleece jacket and P.E. uniforms which are purchased at school. Khaki uniforms for 7th and 8th graders are also purchased at the school.

There may be occasions when non-uniform dress is allowed. At each occasion the specifications regarding the appropriate dress will be announced.

All items of clothing, including jackets and coats, must be marked with the student's name.

Guidelines for Non-uniform Days or Special Dress Days:

Out-of-Uniform Slips

If student is not wearing the appropriate uniform, or not wearing the uniform in the appropriate manner, he or she will be given a verbal warning.

On offenses after the verbal warning:
  1. On his or her first offense, student receives an Out of Uniform slip that parents must sign and return the next day.
  2. On student's second offense, he or she receives an Out of Uniform Slip, and the loss of free dress on the next Non-uniform day.
  3. On student's third offense, the student will receive a Detention. Parents will be contacted by the school office and asked to come to school to correct the violation. Loss of free dress on next Non-uniform day will also result.
If the child continues to violate the uniform rules, the parents will be called in for a conference with the principal.
