Home Configuration Tips

Word processing, spreadsheets and presentations software:

The school has adopted Open Office to replace the MS Office suite.  This will facilitate better sharing of files between home and school with no more version control issues.

If you want your child to use MS Office products at home, no problem.  If you are setting up a student computer system, consider the cost savings you can enjoy at home using Open Office.  Oracle Open Office is available for home use at no charge.  For more info, check out http://www.openoffice.org/ .

What you can do

• Support our fundraisers!
• Make a corporate connection for school sponsorship, such as your employer
• Pass on ideas you hear from outside friends at other schools for incorporating technology into the classroom.
• Volunteer your technical services or construction skills for one-time installations of Smart Boards, computers, etc.
• Consider a monetary donation to the school.
