PPSL SPONSORED
POSITIVE COACHING ALLIANCE WORKSHOPS
Schedule of PCA workshops
The PPSL, for the third year, is sponsoring and requiring attendance at Positive Coaching Alliance Workshops for new parents and for first year coaches for the 2007-2008 academic school year. There are several options for fulfilling this requirement:
- If you are a coach who is coaching for the first time and have never attended any workshops, you are to begin the certification process as a Double-Goal Coach by attending the Level I workshop.
- If you are a parent who was certified within the last two years, you do not have to attend any workshops. We ask that you remember and abide by the principles of the Positive Coaching Alliance and help others around you learn from your example.
- If you are a parent who has a child participating in a PPSL sponsored sport for the very first time, you are required to attend a Parent Workshop. Principals may not sign off on rosters if parents have not completed the Parent Workshop.
| Sports Parent Workshop This workshop explores the three stages of talent development and allows parents to share their ideas about what they want their children to get out of youth sports. Parents gain insight into the training the coaches receive to become Double-Goal coaches. |
Double-Goal Coach Workshop Level I This dynamic workshop gives coaches of all sports practical tools to both win and develop the character of young athletes. You will receive a Double-Goal Coach certification card upon completion of the workshop. |
