I began teaching Spanish to teachers through the San Mateo County Office of Education in 1999. I went on to teach Spanish in different Catholic schools in San Mateo County for the San Francisco Archdiocese with St. Matthew Catholic School being my latest post.

Spanish is my first tongue, so I bring with me the perspective of having to acquire English as my second language of communication. I am keenly aware of the frustration that one experiences when embarking on the challenge of developing a new form of expression and am here to teach Spanish in a most supportive way. The focus of our classes will be on the fundamental of Spanish grammar, vocabulary and the spoken language. The latter, in relation to accent, will reflect the influence of the New World rather than that of Spain.

Proficiency in the acquisition of a new language is tied in to the attitude one has toward the process, review of material covered and practice. Let us encourage our students to pursue this exercise with a positive attitude. While it is necessary for me to assess and grade the student's progress, I propose that our focus ought to be placed squarely on the gains made while being vigilant to maintain a "can-do" attitude towards the learning of the language.

I offer my students consultation time in my office. During the posted hours we can dedicate time for specific questions, reinforcement of material, or further clarifications. I encourage my students to visit my office whenever necessary.
