CHOIR - GENERAL INFORMATION

FIRST REHEARSAL:

MONDAY; SEPT. 10 from 2:30-3:00

REHEARSALS:

• Mondays: 2:30-3:00 p.m. (on 12:40 Mondays, no rehearsal.)
• Thursdays: 3:10-4:00 p.m.

SPECIAL TRIP

This spring, I'd like the choir to perform in Disneyland's Magic Music Days for a workshop and performance in Anaheim as well as sing on Sunday at my alma mater, St. Cecilia's, in Tustin before returning home. It will be a two night stay from Friday eve ( leave after school) to Sunday. This will be a merit-based opportunity, so some performances prior to going are mandatory in order to ready for the trip. More details coming soon!

SPECIAL MEETING:

Only parents of new singers to JR. HIGH CHOIR will need sign -up for a 10 minute meeting with Mrs. Barrett before or after school regarding the "Re-CHOIR-ments" & outfit for your child. Singer must be present. Parents will be called to confirm date and time of first or second choice.

CHOIR OUTFIT:

• Boys: Black pants and black Dress shoes and sock, White long-sleeved shirt, tie ( add $17.00 to fee)* (Go to Sears Boys' Dept or at Old Navy at Hillsdale for pants)
• Girls: : Long Black Skirt and Short-sleeved top to be ordered in September Shoes: 1-1/2 inches height for heels, heel back, closed toe, comfy!
• *Both tie will be ordered thru school and be distributed to singers after arrival.
• NOTE: Singers' outfits need to be shown to Mrs. Barrett for approval before Nov. 11 Mass.

CHOIR FEE:

$55.00 for supplies, music, folders, awards, and Choral Festival transportation ( or $72.00 for boys, if tie is needed ). The Disney trip is a separate cost...TBA Please make check payable to St. Matthew School

• Jan. 27* -10:30 Sunday Mass*
• Feb. 2 * - (Sat) Choral Performance at St. Mary's Cathedral all day
• Feb. 28* - Archdiocesan Choral Festival ~Riordan, S.F (12:00-3:00)*
• April 16 - 10:30 Family Mass
• April tba - Disney Magic Music trip
• May 4 - First Communion 10:00 a.m. (Saturday)
• May 1 - Spring Choral Concert; 7:00 p.m.
• May 30 - Mass/ Graduation- 5:30-7:00 pm

(*mandatory presence for trip so far)
