Instrumental Program 2007-08

Learn to play the instrument you've always wanted to play! It's a lifetime experience!!
Group lessons (guitar, flute and violin) are given on a weekly basis in ward Hall (guitar) and classrooms of the main building after school every Wednesday that school is in session. Band will meet on the Auditorium stage. Lessons are taught by professional teachers who fulfill Archdiocesan requirements for teaching students on campus. Evaluations of each student’s progress will be mailed to parents at the end of each quarter.

GROUP LESSONS

for Guitar and Beginning/ Intermediate Flute, Violin
First lesson
Wednesday September 19; Guitar: Ward Hall; Flute: 7-1; Violin: 6-2
Instructors:
Richard Healy - Guitar; Melanie Keller – Flute; Jennifer Wei - Violin
Times:
3:10 - 3:45 Beginning Guitar, Flute,Violin
3:45 - 4:20 Beginning Guitar, Intermediate Flute, Intermediate Violin
4:25 - 5:00 Intermediate/ Advanced Guitar
Fee: $110 Quarterly.

BAND

Beginning and Advanced- Clarinet, Trumpet, Saxophone, Drums*
First lesson
Wednesday September 19 on the Auditorium Stage.

Times:
3:10 – 3:55 (Beginners) - Brass, Drums, Woodwinds (no Flutes)
4:00 – 4:45 (Advanced) - Brass, Drums, Woodwinds (Advanced Flutes)

All Interested Drummers
Each Band is limited to six drummers. In order to register, parents must contact Mr. Sandoval at (650) 401-7616 for interview and approval.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES:

Students, (mostly Advanced players), will be invited to play for school/ parish liturgies, local community events during the year. All students will perform in the end-of-the-year Concert on May 7.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS:

Class attendance and daily practice is mandatory. Students must bring their instruments and music to every lesson.

INSTRUMENTS:

Each student is responsible for obtaining his/her instrument. S/he will need to rent or purchase the instrument by the first class. See the BACK of this page for Music Store Rentals.

PAYMENT:

Each quarterly statement will include a student progress report - evaluation and invoice. Group lessons: $110 per quarter (Guitar, Flute, Violin) Band: $150 per quarter. (All woodwinds, Brass, Drums, Adv. Flutes). The fee includes instruction, music books, postage and supplies.

REFUND:

Refunds will not be given for lessons missed. If a student needs to withdraw from the program, a refund will be given for remaining lessons not taken during the quarter.

NOTE:

Academic Probation (see handbook) can affect students in program.
