School Gymnasium Project

Thank you for visiting the Saint Matthew's School Gymnasium project web site. Saint Matthews has been working since June of 2009 to respond to the input it received, in reference to the proposed community center submittal that was denied by the City's Planning Commission. We have been working hard to bring forward a significantly revised and new application that is reflective of one of Saint Matthew's core values; to be a good neighbor. This project will not only provide the students of Saint Matthew's with a much needed regulation school gymnasium but it will also significantly improve the existing traffic and parking conditions for the entire neighborhood.

The first step in proceeding with our new submittal for a School Gymnasium was the City's Pre-Application process. The purpose of this step was to gain neighborhood and City input to inform the preparation of our eventual final application to the City. Saint Matthew's has now submitted a Planning Application for a Master Plan with Use Limitations and a Traffic & Parking Management Plan and a School Gymnasium. The Planning Application represents a distinct and substantive change from Saint Matthew's previous submittal. The other documents on the site are meant to assist in better understanding the Application.

The City is currently conducting the environmental review for this project. Upon completion of the draft environmental review document it will be available for public comment. The City will then conduct public hearings to consider both the environmental and merit aspects of the proposal.
